Frequent asked Questions
What is Paintless Dent Removal?
PDR
is a relatively new process of removing minor dents, dings and hail
damage from a vehicle without the use of bondo or the need of
repainting. The process requires a highly skilled technician
to
gain access behind the dented area
with special PDR tools. The dent
is then meticulously
"massage" back to its original pre-dent condition without disturbing
the original paint of the vehicle.
Is
Paintless Dent Removal covered by insurance?
Yes. PDR is the most preferred method of repairing hail damage
vehicles and
minor dents by major insurance companies in Canada and America. PDR is
much faster and costs a lot less then a body shop. It saves
insurance companies from high body shop charges and car rental
charges.
What are the advantages of PDR?
-The
number one advantage is be able to keep your car's original paint for
its appearance and higher resale value.
- It is the
closest you can get to the dent never happened in the first place.
- No painting required therefore no worries of paint fading over time
and no risk of paint mismatch.
- Low cost and fast. No big repair bills to deal with, can be done at your home while you wait.
Disadvantages: PDR only works on minor dents, not collision base damages that requires a body shop repair.
How much does
it cost?
Depending on depth, location and difficulties in gaining access to the dent.
Average
cost is between $85 - $150. This includes most door dings, minor dents and creased dents.
Larger dents between $150 - $350. (determined by depth, size and location)
Hail damage vehicle must first be seen and requires the use of a guideline estimating sheet called a Hail Matrix.

Will my dent be 100% gone?
Minor dents and dings, yes. The deeper the dent, the more difficult
it is to repair. Our customers are amazed after PDR was
performed on
their car. They can not tell where the dent was after we are done, even
on larger dents.
Are the dents repaired using a suction cup?
No.
The repairs are done by slowly manipulating the metal behind the dented
area with special PDR tools until the dent disappears. Its a craft
that requires skills and patience.
Will the dents come back?
Absolutely
not. Once a dent is repaired, it will never comes back, unless you are
hit on the same area again. Traditional body shop methods of dent
repairs can cause a ring or paint shrinkage to develop a few months after the repair. This will
not happen if a dent is properly repaired using PDR.
Can any dent be repaired?
No, The most important factors in determining if a dent can be repaired
by PDR are depth and location. Dents
the
size of a basketball can be successfully repaired as long as
they are not too deep. On the other hand, very small size dents
that are too deep cannot be removed using PDR. About 5% of
dents
can not be repaired due to their locations, such as dents on very edge
of panels with
double folding metal
and
heavily braced areas.
Will
my paint be damaged?
No, the
factory paints on today's vehicles are very durable. If performed
properly by a qualified technician, the paint will not be damage in any
way. PDR is the
only way to repair a dent and still
keep the original paint of the car.
What if the paint is cracked or
chipped?
Some dents may have scuff marks left behind from another vehicle at the
time of impact. In
most cases
these
can be buffed or rubbed away after we are done repairing the dent. If
paint is chipped, cracked or scraped. Repainting or touch up is needed
to prevent rust from forming. We can apply the touch up for you if you
provide the paint, we can also refer you to a
trusted, quality body shop if needed.

"I
would be more than happy to provide my feedback:
The technician was on time. The day he came by my work to look at my
car to provide me with an estimate and the day I brought the car in to
get fixed. He did explain the repair process and out come of the repair. I am very much so satisfie with
the repair." Louise
